Neil North visits Perth Laboratory

 22/01/2014

The Perth office of Envirolab celebrated the completion of a productive 2013 with a visit by Neil North who surprised the team dressed as Santa Claus.

As co-founder, Neil started MPL Laboratories in 1984 providing chemical analysis for occupational health and environmental areas. Over the years as the laboratory grew and flourished, Neil remained as a director. With the sale of the laboratory in 2003 to Coffey, Neil acted as an advisor before retiring in 2007.

“Times have changed, now there are only three staff remaining from the old days,” said Neil.

“I was quite chuffed when I got a phone call from Catherine to come in for a job they wanted me to do.”

“Boy, was I surprised when I did go in and found out what the job was, but I could hardly turn it down then could I?”

And the family tradition continues with Catherine North (pictured), daughter of Neil as Business Development Manager in the Perth office, that has now grown to be the biggest laboratory of its type in Western Australia.
