Envirolab Group, a leading provider of scientific services, is delighted to announce the appointment of Karl Cope as CEO. Karl brings over 20 years of commercial executive experience to the role, having achieved success in a range of industries, including vegetation management, road transport, automotive, and tech. With extensive experience working with family-owned businesses, Karl is well-suited to Envirolab's culture and values.

Over the years, Envirolab has become a leading provider of scientific services in Australia and New Zealand, continuously exploring ways to provide better services to clients and favourable employment conditions for staff. Under Tania Notaras' leadership as Managing Director, Envirolab has grown to operate in multiple locations across the region.
Karl is new to the scientific services industry, but his experience as CEO of Active Tree Services, a family-owned business in the vegetation consulting and management sector, coupled with his CFO roles and Board appointments, have prepared him well for his new role. He is a great listener and fast learner, and his achievements across industries that he was previously unfamiliar with demonstrate his ability to adapt to new environments. Karl has complimented his experience by completing his MBA and AICD Company Directors Course.
During his onboarding process over the next couple of months, Tania Notaras, Envirolab's founder, will remain as Managing Director and guide the company's operations. Tania will also assume the new role of Chairperson of Envirolab's Board of Management. In this role, Tania will provide strategic guidance to the Board and continue to play an instrumental role in shaping the company's future.
There are no other planned changes to the team, with Jacinta Hurst, David Springer and John Notaras continuing to contribute in their senior executive leadership roles and build on their legacy as they have done for almost 20 years, whilst being supported by the broader leadership team across the Group.

This appointment also provides me with the opportunity to explore new projects and spend precious time with family and my new grandson, while still guiding the company as Managing Director and Chairperson.
