The event, which took place Wednesday 9 July at the Sydney location of 3M Australia, is the first event that has provided the opportunity for the NSW Young Chemists Group and the NSW Analytical and the Environmental Chemistry Group from RACI to join forces and participate in a fun "speed dating" session. During the session, Young Chemists were able to network and directly communicate with professional chemists and managers from a number of commercial and government organisations.

The event commenced with a guided tour around the Innovation Centre of 3M Australia, followed by a presentation by Tania. During her presentation, Tania discussed her experience in growing and expanding Envirolab Services from being a business in Willoughby, a location on the lower North Shore of Sydney to the current organisation that spans over several Australian states.

“When I was asked to present at this local event I jumped at the chance. It is a great opportunity to reach to our up and coming Chemists and demonstrate the impact that they can also make by facing challenges and thinking outside the square,” said Tania.

“Tania’s key note address really hit the spot on what Young Chemists want - The presentation was invaluable for everyone in the room, something you wouldn't be able to obtain or learn elsewhere,” said George Zavras, Chair of the Young Chemist Group of NSW and Technical Officer at 3M Australia.
