Emerging scientists from 1st Lindfield Scouts received an introduction to environment testing last Friday, 26 February 2016.
The group met at the Sydney laboratory of Envirolab Services with General Manger, David Springer and Senior Chemist, Kasjan Paciuszkiewicz, who explained the processes in laboratory testing, some of the equipment involved and the different types of contamination – air, water and soil contamination, which have an impact on the living environment.
The scouts then conducted a hands-on investigation by taking part in an acid sulphate soil field test and collecting water samples for testing from one of the local creeks.
