As the Group R&D Manager, Simon is instrumental in leading and managing research projects to develop and validate methods and formulas and conduct technical studies relating to the Group's operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Originally from the UK, Simon joined The Envirolab Group in July 2010. Previously he held leadership roles, including the owner and technical director of a Sydney based Environmental and Pharmaceutical laboratory for nearly nine years.
Since joining the team, Simon has played an integral part of both internal projects (validations and process improvements), as well as grant based and private commercial projects relating to environmental contamination testing.
Currently overseeing other leaders within our organisation's technical operations, including quality, safety and technology transfer, Simon is a NATA Technical Assessor in the field of Chemical Testing for Organics (including PFAS), Inorganics and Metals in various environmental matrices.
With a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry from the University of York, England, Simon enjoys spending his time outside the lab in various activities, including soccer, tennis and bushwalking and seeing live music, comedy and drama performances
